That breath I drew that time, I remember.

A far-off day when I was happy.

Scent of roses, of rain-soaked fields.

Cool breeze, green sawdust.

That breath I was left longing for.

I held it gripped inside of me.

Captivated, I kept it captive.

My one reason to smile.

Breathless, I went on, smothering.

So many times I died and was born.

Until, surrendering, I let my weeping go.

I let out a sigh of fire.

And a breath of fresh air came.

A breeze that is always here.

Violet, lavender, moon, incense.

Sky, life, light, jasmine.

Breathing, I live my day to day.

As I receive it, I let it go.

The scent fills me, overflows me, loves me.

And in it, I love you.
