Students of the Instant

I don't know; I admit I don't know.

I know nothing about life.

This mystery is unfathomable to me.

All my talk is fiction.

But I study myself.

I observe myself.

And I never come to know who I am.

But I can see what comes out of me.

I observe my attitude.

And I observe that my life responds to it.

And I observe that in it I have a choice.

That drive and warmth are born in me.

That my will and my strength rise up.

That I grow above my thinking and my impulses.

That I decide above my sensations and my slackness.

I observe that I can get up and smile.

And though I know nothing, I decide.

I decide to be happy.
