Students of the Instant

Discipline comes to rescue me.

Because I stagger from one side to the other, drunk, without order, without ground. I feel pulled over there, looking to flatter my thoughtlessness, until, worn out, I lurch toward some other over there, looking to fill the emptiness that troubles me. From one need to another, from one pleasure to another. License, repression. Fun, seriousness. Materialism, spirituality...

Discipline is realizing that, through everything that happens, I'm just dizzy. That the feeling of two emptinesses pulling and two contradictions pushing can be mastered. That I can, through everything I live, stay standing in the center.

I come to rescue my discipline.
