Here we are, flung into a life so short it slips away in a blink.

Here we are, flung into a life so short it slips away in a blink. Here we are, bound to a blink so long we doze off slipping away. Asleep, we ignore the happening of a sun that shines and a moon that enchants. We still don't respond to the whisper of the breeze or the tinkling song of the flowers.

Why are we here? Where are we going? Made free, in full authority to be and in serious responsibility to do, we devote every breath to inquiry. Absorbed in the heart of a mystery, we eat of the fruit that grows here to delight in one question: Beyond good and evil, who are we?

Here we are, transforming in a life so eternal it amazes us without a blink. Here we are, lifting our eyes to the sorrow of the divine to land in the joy of the human. How beautiful it is to seep the juice of humility from the oneness of things. Let us give thanks for the beauty that, inescapably, nothing that is today will ever come again.
