What do I know?

What do I know? What do you know? What does anyone really know?

Our wisdom is limited, for a point of view is only a point.

Our reflections belong to each of us, for they reflect what each one wants to know.

Are we proud of our advice, our sayings, our knowledge?

And how much of what we say is repetition unbacked by action?

How much of what we teach others fails to express our own realization?

For we have scorned advice, believing we knew better.

We have looked down on others to protect what we believe we know better.

And we have filled ourselves with words to advise others who, we believe, know worse.

How much integrity is there in speaking without listening?

So here is a reflection: We know nothing.

Our words carry only the pride of saying them.

Is there, then, anything more than just words?

Is there, behind our vain wisdom, that thing we call humility?
