Politics and Freedom
I have looked into the eyes of the great lies that have stamped themselves on the minds of the human masses: Politics, patriotism, ideals.
I decided not to comment on these things, for neither they nor their henchmen are guilty of anything; it all falls on the human weakness we call credulity, and that rests on something much deeper, which is not knowing ourselves.
Despite the sensationalist circus making noise around us, we are free. We need nothing from anyone. We don't need social structures, or identities, or utopian plans. We don't need promises, or futures, or solutions. We don't need to be right, or for the other to be wrong. We don't need justice, or security, or forgiveness. We don't need countries, or governments, or oppositions.
It doesn't matter that our attention wanders down uncertain paths, for we are already here. It doesn't matter that we are convinced we are imprisoned in so much disorder, for the harmony of our heart is already alive. Life, in whatever form it takes, is an enormous gift that unfolds through us, expressing whatever activity it happens to be expressing.
We are, beyond any activity that occurs in life, the very source of life. Before anything exists, we already are. Before our mind believes in anything, we are already giving it energy. Before any force distracts our attention, we are already here.
Take heart, brothers. Nothing that happens has power over us. Freedom is here.
