!STOP!
I stop the world. With my whole presence out front, I refuse the world, and I manage to bring it to a halt.
All of a sudden everything stops happening, everything disappears. The glowing screen where the world's motion plays out shudders in a short circuit.
Once the world has been switched off, the creatures of the night come out into the open. In the total stillness of a world no longer running, something begins to be perceived. In the absolute silence of nothing, something happens.
It is an ocean of life vibrating in the very smallest part of all things. It is an expanse of knowing, closer to the consciousness that makes a world happen.
For consciousness can exist without a world, but the world cannot exist without my consciousness. What is closer to the reality of me? A world happening, or the one it is happening to?
I manage to switch off the world and nothing exists, except that then I do exist. As I exist without the world, I come to recognize that I am not the world's happening. I am nothing worldly, nor anything heavenly. I am nothing humble, nor anything exalted. I am nothing I could tell you about in stories that belong to a world.
!I!
, I say. And since there are sometimes fictitious I's wandering the world, the I I speak of is just an I I heard the world saying. Who am I, behind the cameras? Who, within a whole inner world of whos, is more genuine than any who in the world?
The world stops, but life goes on watching the world stop. The one who watches everything stop, that one never stops.
!Om!
I stop the world. It no longer matters. I am here.
