Behind Your Persona
You believe you are someone different in the world. You believe you came to rise above the rot that spreads throughout your painful experience of life on this earth. You also believe you are important, yet at the same time you deny this belief when you know you are nobody. So you believe you must do something.
And you go along your path playing a character who walks. You seek heaven without questioning this path your character walks. You want, through him, to reach the Truth. So the character, to please you, devotes himself to painting truths.
Lean out and look at the truths that hover around you, wanderer. Your beliefs could be lying to you.
Life is not where you are placing your hope or casting your prayers. You cannot see the Truth, for it is the very consciousness that is looking. You cannot deny reality, because it is the vibration with which you are perceiving your existence.
Where are you heading so doggedly? Why such desperation?
Nothing can change reality. Reality is already happening before you want to change anything. Wanting something is already a reaction to an irreversible reality. Can what happens after the absolutely immediate be greater than this?
No. You are not the person you believe you are. You are not the thoughts passing through your experience and describing everything you want. You are not what your thoughts think you are, for thinking about what you are is something that happens on stage only if you are already there before your thoughts.
Who are you?
What you are is not beyond present reality. You do not have to walk to find it. You are here before the very idea that you are already here. Everything you perceive is in front of you, and therefore nothing you perceive is you, not even yourself.
And if your search now turns to denying your beliefs and rejecting your ego, you will soon see that placing your hopes on that other path will keep leading you to more paths, and not so much to the reality of your being.
You are already here before your beliefs. So it does not matter at all what you believe. Whatever you think. Wherever you go. In whatever experience you are in at the moment, you already are.
You don't have to stop walking either. The character keeps walking because the scriptwriter keeps giving him life. But the writer of the comedy knows that everything is written in a book that will go on being played forever, while he is nothing of what he writes, but the very source of the writing.
Why do you torment yourself? Reality is here, not in your beliefs.
The sun shines over the whole horizon.
