Pure Heart
And I listened to my heart, to know what it wants.
The head and its habits, inviting me to long to understand the mysteries of my soul.
A very fitting habit, because then I seal myself inside myself, and so the caterpillar begins to cook.
First the infernal sobbing of sinister ghosts deafens me, tempering my courage.
But then the light softens my ears with the music of complete gratitude, of the oneness between nothing and nothing else.
The answers float in silence if I, too, let every urge to change the world sink into oblivion.
One question holds steady and takes me deeper: What do I want.
Deeper still, the force that brought me is gone. Its mission was to point the way, not to carry me there..
Here, only emptiness reigns.
I am nothing, then. So here I am.
Further in, not even that. Eternity is alive and transcends every possible concept that would try to give it something to hold on to. I could never stray from here, because nothing is far from or near to the unchanging, the immanent.
But I return, knowing that there is no outside when the one universe is infinite.
Life is making a heart beat and charging a head with energy.
I find the question waiting for me again, now enraptured in contemplating the source of life that nourishes my soul.
I bring a murmur back to my path: Purity of soul.
That is what I want, purity.
I don't want to change the world, I don't want to change myself.
I want to melt my soul into the eternal spirit, to fill every corner of my perception with blessings, I want to find the star that shines its light without trying and without knowing that anything exists beyond its pure heart.
Further out, I then remembered the song of my being.
The sobbing fell silent, trying to hold out against the winds that roared, longing to give thanks for every experience possible in this world.
A pair of wings gleamed for the first time, ready to reach the heavens, eternal as well.
And without lifting my feet from the earth, I rose.
I had a purpose: To find my heart again in every instant.
