How beautiful life is!

How perfect is the world God created!

But then why am I not happy in this paradise?

Why do I blind myself to the beauty and perfection I hold to be true?

Well, I believe that when I manage to understand, I will see this truth.

And I idealize a future for when someday I understand and am happy.

And meanwhile, I stay tangled in my silly dramas.

So, what do I do?

Do I forget about seeking happiness and give myself over to my dramas?

Or do I neglect my dramas to pretend I am already happy?

Here and now, I say.

But here and now, what is happening is this process.

A process in which, drama by drama, step by little step, I come to understand.

A growth during which I am still blind to beauty and perfection.

I cannot deny my dramas, for they are happening here and now.

And I cannot deny my hunger for happiness, which wants to understand these dramas.

Perhaps beauty and perfection are not the transcendent, divine thing I think they are.

Perhaps happiness is this very slow, difficult process of growing.

Perhaps life itself is its own beauty.

Perhaps the world, in all its dramas, is perfection itself.

Ah!

How happy I am!
