Ah, True

And the Truth sets us free. But why did no one answer the question of what Truth is?

We have two bipolar ways of looking, and one more that transcends them.

The essential reality of the Universe is hard to pin down. On one hand it is relative and exact; on the other, quantumly chaotic. Both realities contradict each other yet hold true side by side in that tiny window our curious eyes manage to peer through. In the end we have seen nothing but emptiness, an emptiness vibrating from a doubtful yet True Existence.

So we could say that our objective gaze reveals Nothingness as the only recognizable Truth. If the vibration of that emptiness builds the world we see, it is because reality obeys certain laws set by something beyond every possible dimension of space-time. Absolute, incorruptible laws, but simulated ones.

Our subjective gaze reveals a different reality. We are human beings who perceive the world limited by a body-mind steeped in emotions, ideas, and longings.

Our first principle as biological beings is life. We are driven by an instinct to carry the species on through time, as befits the biological animals we are. Our basic construction of reality follows this direction at an unconscious level, and widens its territory through the diversity of psychological personalities that think, speak, and act. Traits inherited in a perfect intelligent algorithm ever since we were born amoebas.

In our animal primitivism, notably, we fall into superstitions that try to survive by telling us of supernatural gods, of a fatherly and almighty God, who is a reflection of our lack as we live alongside our death.

Our second principle, as individuals, is freedom. We don't know what it is, but without it, death defeats us. Our primal need, after being alive, is to be what we know is our greatest potential of being. When someone seems to stand in the way, we protest, of course. But when we are only outwardly free, our thirst goes on, or even grows.

A more intimate view of freedom might be to deliberately transcend those psychological personalities so as to think, speak, and act freely. It might be not limiting our conceptual and lived perception of reality to what the senses of the body-mind report. Denying ourselves in order to open up to the unknowable. It might be recognizing the Truth that the only reality is Nothingness, that there is only Existence with no one existing.

Our gaze sees that we are stardust. Particles reassembled into a machinery that is a minuscule cell of a larger machine, revolving around ever larger and more complex structures.

But we are not what our gaze sees; we are where our gaze springs from. It is impossible not to notice that all these particles of Nothingness that exist are conscious. And that, the awareness of existing, is the Truth that sets us free. For the simple yet indisputable reason that we would not exist without being aware that we exist.

We are free of any identification in space-time. We are not the dust carried off by the cosmic wind. We are the consciousness that dwells in it. We are the Universe made biology. We are the Eye that makes reality happen by observing it. We are the Truth.
