After a hectic road, I stop.
After a hectic road, I stop. Who would have thought so much wonder surrounded me, heavenly happiness wherever I go. What seems to be clarity and understanding soars over my mind, and the abyss of eternity floods my life, toppling structures and dimming sorrows. All I know is how to give thanks, trusting that everything is love.
Stunned before the vastness of the Heavens, at moments I lose the footing beneath my feet. What does anything matter if the supreme blessing of existing is already here? What does anything matter if I already am everything? What does anything matter if, in this limbo floating with no meaning and no direction, I already feel happy?
Then reason comes to my rescue. Then my mind carries out its blessed function. Rapt like a fool by the impression of greatness, I had thrown away a part of me that kept me standing. Magnificent are the Heavens, but I was born to walk this Earth. Here every step matters to me. Here there is no time to be dazzled, no time for excuses. Noticing a tiger's beauty does not save me from its claws. Here what matters to me is to act. Believing myself enlightened pulls me away from the attention I owe to reality. Believing myself different pulls me away from wisdom. Slacking in my commitment to be shrewd pulls me away from freedom. Here what matters to me is keeping steady, not surrendering to the pull of the abyss or the glow of a distant sun.
I go on along my hectic road, always listening to my beloved mind from the silence of my heart. I go on, no longer seeking an airy happiness but the wholeness of my entire being. I go on, in this thrilling life where everything moves, in this vibrant world where everything matters to me.
