As I give up letting my ailments impress me...
As I give up letting my ailments impress me, I open my attention to discerning the colors the world unfolds. My judgments spoke of my fears, yet they mistook everything for white and everything for black, seeing only the black of my eyelids. Who are you, reality?
The more closely I detail the differences between one spark and another, the more I recognize their oneness. Let the angels come to me and let the demons come to me. Let the beings who love come to me and let the beings who kill come to me. Let unconditional forgiveness come to me. Because my praise of love leaves out neither the lame nor the fallen.
As silence becomes the center of my prayer, the clarity of seeing gifts me a dawn that hides nothing and disguises nothing. In life, not even death is to be feared. Both, once the veil of my confusion is pierced, show their faces and confide to me, as accomplices, their most intimate secret for conquering the truth: to know humility.
